Methamphetamine drug arrests on the rise

The Nodaway County Sheriff's Department has made a number of methamphetamine related arrests in the past several months.

Nodaway County Sheriff Randy Strong says meth seems to be the drug of choice in Nodaway County.

"One time we used to be the meth lab capital of the United States.  Those times have changed.  We don't see people making meth.  Now we primarily see Mexican cartel methamphetamine that's being smuggled up through the pipeline.  Really a very distinct difference and appearance when you get it."

Several of the recent arrests have come after successful undercover investigations conducted by the Nodaway County Sheriff's Department.
